Important Errors
These are mostly errors in equations and in the level of subheadings. There is one instance of garbled text (on page 32).
Page | Description |
32 | There is a garbled pair of sentences that are unreadable This purports to solve the mind-body problem by asserting that the universe is nothing over and above a succession of physical events: P describe themselves as “eliminative materialists”, are the → P → P → P →. Patricia and Paul Churchland, who foremost advocates of this view. These should read This purports to solve the mind-body problem by asserting that the universe is nothing over and above a succession of physical events: → P → P → P →. Patricia and Paul Churchland, who describe themselves as “eliminative materialists”, are the foremost advocates of this view. |
140 | In the sentence ending: let w = (w1, w2) = (7+0i, 2-1i). After the = sign, remove bold from: (w |
144 | In the equation that reads something like: Prob(system found to be within R) = ∫ ψ*(x) ψ(x) dx <<——–spaces———->> R The letter R in the second line of this equation should appear directly under the ∫ sign, (but it is probably displaced). The equation is therefore preferably amended so that the R appears as a subscript immediately after the sign, to give: Prob(system found to be within R) = ∫R ψ*(x) ψ(x) dx |
147 | There is a similar alignment problem in an equation on this page. It is preferably amended in a similar manner, to give: Prob(a in R) = ∫R ψ(a)*ψ(a) da |
148 | There is a similar alignment problem in an equation on this page. It is preferably amended in a similar manner, to give: Prob(x in R) = ∫R ψ(x)*ψ(x) dx |
174 | Amend the second line of the equation that is at the top of page 174: where |c|2 + |d|2 = 1 and|C|〉2 + |D|〉2 = 1 By removing both instances of 〉; And adding a space after the word and To give where |c|2 + |d|2 = 1 and |C|2 + |D|2 = 1 |
194 | Equation Ψ(x1, x2) = ∫ exp(i/ħ × (x1 – x2 + x0) × p) dp (*) Here, (*) plays the role of an equation number, so it should be justified further right (Compare, for instance, the numbered equations on page 348) |
203 | Equation Ψ(x, y) = ψ1(x) ψ2(y) Should have 1 and 2 as superscripts Ψ(x, y) = ψ1(x) ψ2(y) |
248 | At present, the second line of the equation on this page reads approximately: 1/√2 |z↑〉 |Az – up〉 |O – up〉 + 1/√2 |z↓〉 |Az – down〉 |O – down〉 Replace all four instances of “ – ” with hyphens (no spaces), To give: 1/√2 |z↑〉 |Az-up〉 |O-up〉 + 1/√2 |z↓〉 |Az-down〉 |O-down〉 |
353 | In equation (9), first line: Delete the second left-square-bracket “[“ |
366 | In the sentence (It was given this label in Figure 10.1.) Change Figure 10.1 to Figure 10.2. Also, ignore the link (shown underlined) |
398 | Add two instances of 〉 to the sentence beginning: Defining |0〉 = |z↑ and |1〉 = |z↓ a general qubit |q〉 is given by To give: Defining |0〉 = |z↑〉 and |1〉 = |z↓〉 a general qubit |q〉 is given by |
400 | In the sentence: (If you look at the discussion of spinors in chapter 4, you will see that this is |x↑, which is one of the basis spinors in the x-basis (note well: this is x not z). Change |x↑ To |x↑〉 The result will be: (If you look at the discussion of spinors in chapter 4, you will see that this is |x↑〉, which is one of the basis spinors in the x-basis (note well: this is x not z). |

Lesser Errors
Including typos and minor errors in sentences
Page | Description |
4 | Change more-orless To more-or-less |
5 | Change diffi culty To difficulty |
Various | There are a few other errors of a similar character to the above two examples. For example, in a very few cases pan-idealist has been written without a hyphen. |
14 | You fill a glass with from a nearby tap Delete with |
31 | In the sentence (This motivates the idea that consciousness is fundamental, existing everywhere and at all times: see proposal (F) below.) Make (F) bold |
110 111 112 | Change Twin’s To Twins’ (in the subheading) Same change (in the body of the text) Same Change (in the caption to Figure 3.5) |
118 | In the subheading Communalities Remove italics (but keep bold) because this is a level-one subheading |
257 | Change grow be To grow to be |
286 | In the subheading Is this characterisation neces sary? Change neces sary To necessary |
351 | In the subheading The concept of macroscopic in GRW Remove italics (but keep bold) because this is a level-one subheading |
369 | In the sentence Unfortunately, the underlined phrase is not strictly meaningful in a relativistic context. Replace the word underlined with the word emphasised |

Errors in links
The following all refer to spurious links in the eBook
No changes are needed: Just IGNORE SUCH LINKS
Page | Description |
20 | Dennett(1991, chapter 9) Ignore the link (Because the reference is to chapter 9 in Dennett’s book) |
Similarly ignore all such links below… | |

70 | Brüntrup and Jaskolla (2017, Part II) |
